Bass Rocks in the Community

Maintaining the John Alto Park

Bass Rocks over the past years has maintained the John Alto's Park on the corner of Mount Pleasant and Moorland Roads. The local community can sit down and enjoy the fresh air and vistas of Gloucester.

Folds of Honor

The Folds of Honor Foundation is rallying a nation to ensure no family is left behind in the fight to preserve American freedom. Through scholarships and other assistance, we give back to the spouses and children of soldiers killed or disabled in service to our country. They provide healing, hope and an opportunity for dreams to be realized...with the support of people like you. We feel this is our duty as citizens of the greatest country in the world.

Gloucester High School Golf Team

One of longest standing commitments to the City of Gloucester is the free use of the club to the Gloucester High School Golf Team. For over 20 years the Gloucester High School Team has tryouts, practices and home matches every fall.

Junior Clinics and Caddie Program

One of the main reason the Gloucester High School Golf Team has been so successful is the chance for young kids to caddie and play at Bass Rocks. The club has supported the youths of Gloucester in the Caddie Program by keeping them working and teaching them things such as responsibility and discipline.

Robert Porter Scholarship

One of the benefits of working here at the club is the opportunity to apply for the Robert Porter Scholarship at the Gloucester High School. Named after one of Bass Rocks finest past members, the scholarship is available for any one who worked as a caddie, in the pro shop, in the clubhouse or on the golf course. The club raises over $2000 a year.

Toy Drive for Project Uplift

Over the past few years the Ladies group of Bass Rocks initiated the Toy for Tots Collection for Action Inc. located in Gloucester. The pro shop has continued this program and many under privileged families and kids have had more enjoyable holidays because of the generousity of the members of Bass Rocks.

seArts

Composed of individuals who embrace a full range of intellectual and stylistic genres, the Society for the Encouragement of the Arts is a coalition of artists, art lovers, cultural institutions, businesses, and municipal organizations, all working together to improve the economic base for the arts and the larger Cape Ann community. Each spring Bass Rocks hosts throughout the year an art show, in the clubhouse, with beautiful art work by some of the local artists of Cape Ann

Gloucester Police and Fire Departments

We appreciate the hard work and dedication of the Gloucester Police and Fire Departments and understand the pressures that come with the job. We encourage all Police and Firemen to join us for a free round of golf in the fall of every year.
